Mercury Insurance Agent in Santa Clarita, From an Independent Agency
We're Iriana Insurance Services, an independent agency in Valencia, not Mercury itself. We can quote Mercury Insurance car, home, condo and renters policies, and in the same conversation we compare them with Travelers and the other carriers we work with. If Mercury is the right fit and accepts the application, we write it. If it isn't, we'll tell you.

Is Iriana Insurance part of Mercury Insurance?
Short answer
No. We're an independent agency appointed to quote and sell Mercury policies, along with policies from other carriers. We don't work for Mercury, and Mercury doesn't own or run our office.
An appointment means Mercury has authorized our agency to offer its policies. When you buy one through us, the policy is issued by one of Mercury's California companies, Mercury pays covered claims, and we stay your agent for questions and changes. You can look up our agency license, #0D44425, on the California Department of Insurance's license status page (opens in a new tab).
Because we're independent, Mercury is one of 30 insurance companies we work with. Others include Travelers, Bristol West, Steadily, Obie and NEXT. That's the main difference between us and an agent who can offer only one company, and our guide to independent vs. captive insurance agents goes into it further.
Which Mercury policies can we quote?
Short answer
Mercury car, homeowners, condo and renters insurance for California households. For a household with cars and a house, we start by pricing car and home together.

Should you buy Mercury through a local agent or directly?
Short answer
Either way you're buying Mercury insurance, so the real differences are choice and service. Through an independent agent, you see Mercury's quote next to other carriers and have a named person to call; buying directly, you see only Mercury and work through its own channels.
Mercury describes its products as sold through a network of local, independent agents. It started selling some car policies directly to consumers in 2011, and added online home, condo and renters sales in California in 2018, so both routes exist.

We can't promise that one route always costs less. The price depends on Mercury's rates for your drivers, cars and home, and on the discounts you qualify for.
What should you know about Mercury as a company?
Short answer
Mercury is a California-based insurer. It was founded in Los Angeles, sold its first policy in 1962 and lists its headquarters today in Brea, California. It sells insurance in 11 states, including car, home, condo, renters and business coverage.
For our customers the practical points are simpler. Mercury writes both car and home insurance in California, it works through independent agents like us, and we can put its quote next to a Travelers quote in one conversation. Whether it's the right fit depends on your drivers, your cars and the house.
Wildfire and home quotes
Like every carrier, Mercury decides which homes it will write, and wildfire exposure is part of that decision. If Mercury won't write your home, we'll check the other carriers we work with, and our guide to home insurance non-renewals covers your next steps.
Can you compare Mercury with other insurance companies?
Short answer
Yes, and that's the point of using an independent agency. We quote Mercury next to the other carriers that fit your situation and show you how the coverage differs, not just the price.
Carriers we can compare with Mercury include:
- Travelers for car and home, as a second standard-market comparison.
- Bristol West if a driver has tickets or an accident, or needs an SR-22 filing.
- Steadily or Obie if you own a rental property; see landlord insurance.
- NEXT if you run a small business; see business insurance.

Mercury Insurance agent
Carriers we can quote
We work with 30 insurance companies, so we can run your details with carriers like Mercury Insurance, Travelers and Bristol West, then show you the options side by side. Each carrier makes its own underwriting decision, so acceptance and final rates are up to them. We'll tell you which ones fit before we quote.
Not every carrier writes every property, vehicle or business. Final rates and eligibility are set by the insurance company.

How do I find a Mercury Insurance agent near me in Santa Clarita?
Mercury's website has an agent finder, and we're an independent agency in the Santa Clarita Valley that can quote Mercury. Our office is on Avenue Stanford in Valencia. Call (818) 909-7486, Monday to Friday from 9 to 4, or send a quote request online; during those hours we usually call back within the hour.
Is Mercury cheaper through an agent or online?
Neither route is always less. Your price depends on Mercury's rates for your drivers, cars and home, and the discounts you qualify for. What an agent adds is comparison: we can show you Mercury next to Travelers and others in one sitting, which a single company's website can't do. If your renewal price jumps, we can check the market again.
Can you help with a claim on my Mercury policy?
Yes. Mercury's claims team handles and pays covered claims, but you can call us first. We'll help you report it, tell you what information Mercury will need, and follow up if something stalls. For a car accident, our guide on what to do after a car accident in California covers the first steps at the scene.
Do you only sell Mercury?
No. We work with 30 insurance companies, including Mercury Insurance, Travelers, Bristol West, Steadily, Obie and NEXT, which lets us match the carrier to the need: for example, Mercury or Travelers for most car and home quotes, Bristol West for drivers with a rough record or an SR-22, Steadily or Obie for landlords, and NEXT for small businesses. Each carrier makes its own underwriting decision.
Is Mercury Insurance only in California?
No. Mercury sells personal insurance in 11 states: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia. Our agency is licensed in California only, so we quote Mercury policies for California drivers, homes, condos and renters. If you're moving out of state, a Mercury agent licensed there can help with the new policy.
Will Mercury insure my home in a wildfire area?
It depends on the home. Mercury, like every carrier, sets its own underwriting rules, and wildfire exposure is part of them. The quickest way to know is to quote it: give us the address, roof type and year built, and we'll tell you whether Mercury will consider it and what the alternatives are if not. Our wildfire and home insurance guide for Santa Clarita has more background.
Can I bundle Mercury car and home insurance?
Yes. Mercury writes both, and California lets insurers rate multiple policies with the same company differently, so a bundle can change the price. Whether it beats two separate policies depends on your household, so we quote it both ways. Our page on home and auto bundles covers what to compare beyond the total.
