Santa Clarita is the third-largest city in Los Angeles County and sits about 30 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, according to the city's own profile (opens in a new tab). For insurance, your address matters more than which side of the city line you're on, so a Castaic home and a Valencia home get the same careful shopping from us.
Can you come by our office in Valencia?
Short answer
Yes. Santa Clarita is the one place where a visit is easy. We're at 25060 Avenue Stanford, Suite 240, on weekdays from 9 to 4; please call ahead so one of us is free to sit down with you.
There are two of us, so a quick call first means Brian can have your quotes ready to go over and Dolores can have the paperwork lined up. If you'd rather not come in, quotes, applications and signatures all work by phone, email and e-signature.
What to bring
- Your current declarations pages (the summary pages) for car and home
- Driver's license numbers for everyone in the household who drives
- The year, make and model or VIN of each car
- For a home: the year it was built and when the roof, plumbing and electrical were last updated
- Any non-renewal notice or DMV letter you've received
“Small family owned agency, I've always had a smooth process.”
What insurance can you get from us in Santa Clarita?
Short answer
Coverage for the whole household, plus small business: car, home, condo, renters, landlord, SR-22 and business insurance. For earthquake coverage, ask us about your options.
- Car insurance: commuters, teen drivers and multi-car households. See auto insurance in Santa Clarita or our statewide car insurance page.
- Homeowners insurance: tract homes, hillside homes and help after a non-renewal. Start with homeowners insurance in Santa Clarita or the statewide home insurance page.
- Home and auto together: one house and two cars priced as a household. See the home and auto bundle.
- Condo and townhome (HO-6): coverage that fits around your HOA's master policy. See condo insurance.
- Renters insurance: your belongings and liability in an apartment or rented house. See renters insurance.
- Landlord insurance: rental houses and condos, with carriers such as Steadily and Obie. See landlord insurance.
- Earthquake insurance: not included in a standard home policy, so it's a separate policy; ask us how to compare the options. See earthquake insurance.
- SR-22: the proof of insurance the DMV can require after a DUI, a suspension or driving uninsured. See SR-22 insurance in Santa Clarita.
- Business insurance: general liability, business owner's policies, workers' comp and commercial auto through carriers such as NEXT and Travelers. See business insurance in Santa Clarita.
- Classic and collector cars: ask us about classic car insurance.
For car and home, Mercury Insurance is usually the first carrier we check. Our Mercury Insurance agent page has more on how that works.
How does driving in Santa Clarita shape car insurance?
Short answer
Mostly through mileage. California treats annual miles as one of the three biggest rating factors, and leaving the valley usually means I-5 or the 14.
Southbound traffic funnels into the Newhall Pass, where I-5 and the 14 meet; that interchange collapsed in the 1994 Northridge earthquake and was rebuilt. Metro's I-5 widening north toward Castaic is still under construction. Ventura County commuters take Highway 126 west, and Antelope Valley commuters ride the 14 or Sierra Highway north.
The full local rundown, including Metrolink riders and college-age drivers, is on our Santa Clarita auto insurance page. If a DUI or suspension is part of the picture, go straight to SR-22 insurance.
What should Santa Clarita homeowners plan for?
Short answer
Three things: a carrier's wildfire review, earthquake coverage bought separately, and a backup plan in case an insurer declines to renew.
CAL FIRE records show the 2019 Tick Fire burned 4,615 acres around Canyon Country and the 2025 Hughes Fire burned more than 10,000 acres near Castaic Lake. The 1994 Northridge earthquake left Santa Clarita City Hall unusable. A standard homeowners policy usually covers fire, but earthquake damage needs its own coverage.
If a non-renewal arrives, our guides on handling a non-renewal and the California FAIR Plan walk through the options, and wildfire risk in Santa Clarita goes deeper on fire.
Do you insure small businesses in Santa Clarita?
Short answer
Yes. We can quote carriers such as NEXT and Travelers for general liability, business owner's policies, workers' compensation and commercial auto, including for contractors.
From a home-based business in Saugus to a contractor with trucks on I-5, the first step is the same: tell us what you do and who works for you. Start with business insurance in Santa Clarita, or read about general liability, workers' compensation and contractor insurance.

Why use an independent agency in Santa Clarita?
Short answer
One conversation gets you quotes from several carriers, and the person who set up your policy is the person who answers when something changes.
A captive agent sells one company's policies. We can put Mercury Insurance, Travelers, Bristol West and our other carriers side by side, then stay with you after the sale for changes, renewals and claims questions. Our guide to independent vs. captive agents explains the difference.
We're licensed in California only: agency license #0D44425, and Brian Iriana's license #0G73836.
Weekday calls between 9 AM and 4 PM usually get a call back within the hour. After 4, or on weekends, expect to hear from us the next business morning.

Questions we hear a lot
Insurance in Santa Clarita: common questions
Short answers to what people ask us most. Anything else, call and ask Brian or Dolores.
Still have a question?
Talk to a licensed agent at the Valencia office.
(818) 909-7486Mon to Fri, 9 AM to 4 PM
Where is your Santa Clarita office?
We're at 25060 Avenue Stanford, Suite 240, Valencia, CA 91355, in the Valencia Industrial Center area. The office is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM and closed weekends. Call (818) 909-7486 before you come so Brian or Dolores can set aside time, or email irianainsurance@gmail.com with your questions.
Do you serve Stevenson Ranch and Castaic even though they are not in the city?
Yes. Stevenson Ranch and Castaic are unincorporated Los Angeles County, but they're part of the Santa Clarita Valley and a short drive from our office. We quote homes, cars and businesses there exactly as we do in Valencia or Saugus. What matters to an insurer, like your address, your roof and your driving record, doesn't depend on city limits.
Are you a Mercury Insurance agent in Santa Clarita?
We're an independent agency that works with Mercury Insurance, and Mercury is usually the first carrier we check for car and home in the valley. Because we're independent, we can also compare Travelers, Bristol West and others when Mercury isn't the right fit for your situation. Read more on our Mercury Insurance agent page.
Can I get a quote without coming in?
Yes. Call, email or use the quote form, and we'll gather what we need by phone. We send quotes by email, walk you through them on the phone, and you sign with e-signature. You never have to visit the office unless you want to.
How quickly will someone call me back?
On weekdays between 9 and 4, we usually return calls and quote requests within the hour. Anything that arrives in the evening or on a weekend gets a call the next business morning. You'll reach Brian or Dolores directly, not a call center, and the same two people handle your policy after it starts.
Is there a charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free, and you're under no obligation to buy. We'll show you what each carrier we quote offers for the same coverage, explain the differences in plain English, and let you decide. There's no pressure to switch.
Do you only insure people who live in Santa Clarita?
No. We're licensed in California and serve Palmdale and Lancaster, Ventura, Bakersfield, Modesto, Turlock and Orange County by phone, email and e-signature. Santa Clarita is simply the one place where coming to the office is practical. See Palmdale and Lancaster, Ventura, Bakersfield or all the areas we serve.
